A Story Woven in Thread and Stone

OAKK and Stone began as a pastime. Friends and family kept asking to buy what Lisa made, and in time the pastime became a house.

By profession, Lisa is an anesthesiologist, and the steadiness that work asks of her is the same steadiness each piece asks. Long before jewelry there was paper. She spent afternoons at her Lola's house folding origami from an aunt's old manuals, learning that a thing is only as beautiful as its last corner. Years later, a kumihimo kit from that same aunt, the Japanese art of braiding once used to bind samurai gear and kimono obi, turned that patience into something she could wear.

Silk became cord. Cord gained glass beads and semi-precious stones. Then came beadwork, with its Eastern European roots: peyote stitch and brick stitch, learned one tiny thread at a time.

The name keeps that beginning: One of a Kind Kumihimo, and Stone.

Each Signature piece begins with a gold framework crafted by goldsmiths Lisa works with. The beadwork is entirely her own, made by hand and without a pattern, so no piece can ever be made twice. Even she could not repeat one.

Alongside the Signature pieces, Lisa selects gold-filled and solid gold designs for every day, chosen with the same eye.
